Our know-how begins with the choice of our noble, organic, natural raw materials and validated by ECOCERT GREENLIFE.

Our olive oil from authentic “ALEPEO” soap is extracted mechanically (second pressure) without adding solvents which are very harmful.

Our liquid soap is made by saponification, in a stainless steel cauldron, of noble oils from organic farming (ORGANIC).

The steps in making “ALEPEO” soap:

Our manufacturing method, which is traditional and ancestral, is based on the hot saponification method. It is important to emphasize that this method is the best which gives us soaps that are homogeneous, smooth and without excess soda. It should be noted that our soap is cooked at a maximum temperature of 100C°. Master soap makers do not approve of cold manufacturing methods for several reasons (see the comparison with the 2 methods).

1- Cooking soap (Saponification)

a- Preparation of oil and soda (1st day):

The master soap maker pours a preparation of sodium hydroxide (with a balsam of 18) into the cooking cauldron. He then pours in the olive oil, mixing very little. He leaves this preparation for a full day.

b- Saponification and washing (2nd day):

This step consists of saponifying the olive oil under the effect of heat (we only heat the preparation of sodium hydroxide which will help the saponification of oils). At the end of this step, we add the bay laurel oil in order to saponify the whole (olive and laurel oils). After complete saponification, the master soap maker proceeds with washing.

c- Washing and liquidation

Washing the saponified paste is done gradually in several washes. When the soap paste becomes ready (smooth, homogeneous and without excess sodium hydroxide), the master soap maker stops cooking and leaves it to rest for at least 20 hours.

2- Pouring the soap

a- The next day, the soap paste is poured in spaces specially organized to receive the soap paste.

b- The next day, we cut with a rake-shaped knife.

c- At the end of cutting the soap, we proceed to stamping

3- Pilling and drying

a- With great care, the soap thus cut and stamped is removed from the sole and then placed in piles, on pallets, leaving cells between the soaps in order to allow air to circulate (which helps in drying the soap ).

b- Leave the soap as is, for at least 9 months to dry in the open air.

c- After 9 months of drying, we proceed to cleaning and equalizing the soaps.
